Given the Metafictional nature of D-9341’s Anomalous abilities it’s very likely that Benjamin Oliver Walker was a part of the Foundation’s Pataphysics Department, a Department dedicated to researching the extent to which Reality itself is fictional, my personal Headcanon is that he was demoted to D-Class NOT because he was doing Unauthorized Research into the Spiral Gestalt but because he sought to use it to achieve a form of Godhood (which is very much a big no no at the Foundation) and as shown by the Containment Breach video game he somewhat succeeded.

Cry Of Fear, in my opinion, the greatest horror game to ever exist. It doesn't need good graphics, or fantastic gameplay. It just needs a good story, and they absolutely succeeded in humanizing Simon. To some extent its actually terrifying just how realistic this game is. Loneliness, depression, anxiety, suicide, mental illness, psychosis, despair. These are all things that no game developer would ever consider to base their game around, but here we are with Cry Of Fear, relating to lots of people that also deal with this stuff. It's fascinating, really is. Simon isnt just a video game character, he is us... All of us....

I believe the starting cut scene wasn’t reality and is Simon’s interpretation of what happened (which would explain how the car goes top speeds strangely fast and how the car looked spotless)
